Access Control

Electronic access control systems have become the most important aspect of many company's security measures in the last decade. Improvements and cost reductions in the microprocessor have made access control affordable for large and small businesses alike, while improving systems performance.

Electronic access control provides an extremely effective means of granting entry to personnel who need it, while maintaining the security of the building. Access control systems can often reduce costs re-keying,
while providing a higher level of security. Access control systems offer the following advantages:

* If an access credential is lost or an employee leaves the company, it can be removed from the database, preventing any future access.

* Unique credentials are issued to everyone with access.  This is done to ensure individual control, accountability, and tracking of activity.

* Access control is very flexible.  It will allow multiple schedules and various access points for each credential enabling total control.

* An audit trail is provided for management tracking and reporting of who entered and/or left a particular area at a particular time. Tracking of invalid attempts is also provided in many systems to allow management to determine if employees are attempting to enter areas they are not permitted into, or whether employees are attempting to get into areas at the wrong time.

Hybrid Key

The Hybrid Key is a dual technology credential that combines a mechanical blade with RFID technology (Prox or iClass).  Hybrid Keys leverage HID compatible 26-bit open format RFID technology.

Dual technology allows the key to work as a prox and a mechanical key, eliminating the need to carry both card and key credentials.
